On our way to falassarna beach you will stop at the cave of Marathokefala. Inside the cave you will find a 15th century temple and 17th century cells. According to local tradition, it’s the cave where Saint John founded the island’s ascetic tradition. Falassarna Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in town, where the sand is whitish and the water has tropical color. There are also water sports facilities and beach volley courts. The sunset at falassarna is said to be the best in Crete. How could it not be the best when you are in such a stunning landscape and there is no obstacle between the beach and the horizon?
